PRESIDENT: Allie Hill

year: second-year hometown: Baltimore, Maryland area(s) of study: Legal Studies and Psychology Allie is super excited to be Hobart president after serving as Social Chair for two years! This year, she's committed to building and maintaining the loving, supportive, and diverse community that is Hobart while also making it the most fun building on campus. Her favorite Hobart events have been the garden-themed Formal of '23, Pumpkins and Pies, and the puzzle nights. Outside of Hobart, she works as a nanny, serves on the Communications Committee of the campus club SHAPE, and is working on her first novel. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, writing, catching up on all the latest campus gossip, sewing, and crocheting. You'll probably see her in the upstairs kitchen often since she prefers to cook her own meals and loves to make treats to share! The president delegates tasks to the appropriate board members and ensures that the chairs are aware of their respective responsibilities. The president must attend meetings of the Residential College Board and organize dorm meetings and elections. |

year: second-year hometown: Westchester, IL area(s) of study: Economics and Psychology, Business Institutions Areebah Omer is currently a sophomore and soon to be a junior this upcoming Fall. Previously serving as Secretary, Areebah is ready to embrace her new role as Hobart's Vice President for 2024-25. Her responsibilities will include managing points, housing, and Wildcat Welcome events. What drew her into Hobart was the way the place felt like a home away from home, with its cozy environment and the community's welcoming presence. Even though she won't be living in Hobart next year, Areebah looks forward to becoming a Non-Resident and continuing her involvement by welcoming incoming freshmen over the summer and serving on the Executive Board. The vice president assists the President and presides over Executive Board meetings when the President is unable to attend. The VP is in charge of Housing, and keeps track of all the members wishing to reside in WRC. The VP allocates housing assignments as described in Article VI Section A and conveys this information to the Housing Office in a timely manner. Throughout the year, it is the Vice President’s duty to keep track of the points each member of WRC has earned and organize the information in a spreadsheet/other easy-to-distribute document. |
SECRETARY: AYesha mohammed

year: second-year hometown: Gurnee, IL area(s) of study: Anthropology, Data Science Ayesha is a second year majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Data Science! As secretary, Ayesha is excited to keep track of exec meetings and update the Toilet Papers weekly! She is looking forward to continue being a part of Hobart's safe and welcoming community for the rest of her time at Northwestern. The secretary takes attendance and comprehensive minutes at all meetings and sends them to Executive Board members within 24 hours. If the secretary is unable to attend a meeting, it is their responsibility to find an alternative person to take the minutes. The secretary is responsible for publishing the weekly Toilet Paper consistently on the same day each week. The secretary notes upcoming events, both for WRC and RCB, and keeps residents informed of what is happening each week. The secretary is also responsible for creating the annual WRC scrapbook at the end of winter quarter. |
TREASURER: Amelia Hurley

hometown: Huber Heights, OH area(s) of study: English, Learning and Organizational Change Amelia is a sophomore studying English Lit and is happy to return as Hobart's Treasurer for the '24-'25 school year! She joined Hobart because of its caring and creative community. She works with the Student Organization Finance Office to reimburse payments Hobartians make for the community, keeps record of Hobart's purchases, and budgets each quarter. The treasurer is responsible for the management, disbursement, and bookkeeping of the College’s social dues and maintenance fund. The treasurer maintains the budget with the Student Organizations Finance Office (SOFO) and Undergraduate Residential Life. The treasurer must also monitor the spending habits of the Executive Board. The treasurer is required to propose a budget for all chairs in the beginning of the quarter and discuss all discrepancies, when they arise, with the Executive Board. |
Fireside CHAIR: Sarah Sajjad

She is excited to organize firesides for the community and continue the quarterly tradition of Five Minute Firesides! Sarah is looking forward to connecting with the community! The fireside chair is responsible for coordinating educational activities for the College. The fireside chair must research possible speakers and interesting subjects, incorporating Faculty Associates when possible. Co-sponsoring events with other organizations is greatly encouraged, so the fireside chair must work with organizations outside of WRC. |

The warmth of the Hobart community remains central to why they've been here all this time, and as social chair, they want nothing more than to continue to nurture that camaraderie that makes Hobart home! She has loved planning events for Hobart over the past year, and is so excited to continue planning fun events for the community this upcoming year!! Her favorite thing about the Hobart community, especially as someone who started out as a non-res, is how warm, accepting, and full of love, everyone in the community is. Publicity CHAIR: Ari Cooks

year: second-year hometown: Houston, Texas area(s) of study: Communications, Gender Studies Ari's favorite things in the whole world are nature, anything pink, their roommate, and bubble tea! They are very excited to take over as Publicity chair for the coming year, getting the event emails is one of the best ways to keep up with Hobart news and it's a welcome responsibility. Ari joined Hobart because the wanted a home away from home, which is exactly what they've found. The publicity chair is in charge of publicizing all events sponsored by WRC and updating the Hobart calendar/dry erase board. The publicity chair must work with the organizers of the event in order to publicize effectively all activities inside and outside of WRC. The organizer will give them the information for their event, and the chair will publicize it appropriately. The other chairs depend on the publicity chair to publicize their events and increase House participation. The publicity chair is a leading presence in Hobart’s social media, calendar, and website maintenance. |

She is one of Hobart's Philanthropy Chairs for 2024-25. She loves how connected the Hobart community is, and wants to have a bigger impact through Hobart exec. She is excited to meet and work with other Hobartians and to plan events. The philanthropy chair coordinates all philanthropic activities. The philanthropy chair maintains and develops ways for residents to volunteer within WRC, Northwestern, or the Evanston and Chicago communities. The philanthropy chair must work closely with other philanthropic organizations to implement projects that are of interest to residents. There must be a minimum of 2 events per quarter. |

Outside of Hobart she spends her time competing on the school's Valorant team and working on robotics on the robotics UROV team. Her hobbies include video gaming, doing magic tricks, and playing the guitar. The outreach chair coordinates all activities with faculty associates. year: third-year hometown: Elgin, IL area(s) of study: Creative Writing and MENA Studies, Arabic Minor Asiyah Arastu is a junior at Northwestern University majoring in Creative Writing and MENA Studies and minoring in Arabic. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, whether it be playing Ultimate Frisbee, camping and hiking at National Parks, ice skating on frozen ponds, sledding, or attempting to climb trees. In her free time, she spends quality time with her younger siblings, goes on long walks or bike rides in the company of a good audiobook, and agonizes over not being productive enough as a so-called creative writer. She dreams of becoming fluent in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and using a sewing machine or crochet hook, but she still has a long way to go! The outreach chair coordinates all activities with faculty associates. Beautification Chair & Women's Center Liason: Sana Nanlawala

hometown: Chicago, Il area(s) of study: Data Science + Sociology Sana Nanlawala is so excited to continue being a part of the wonderful community Hobart brings!!! The Women’s Center Liaison is responsible for maintaining a good relationship with the Women’s Center. The Women’s Center serves the University community by designing programs that advocate for women’s concerns. The Liaison must inform residents of the programs available at the center and inform them of activities hosted by the College. The Liaison is responsible for researching volunteer opportunities at both the center and club, and informing the philanthropy chair when good opportunities arise. The beautification chair is in charge of decorating Hobart for the holidays, as well as keeping Hobart beautiful in general (through the addition of fake flowers, pictures, etc.). The beautification chair is also responsible for making equipment purchases for WRC (i.e. cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, etc.). The beautification chair must monitor the upkeep of all WRC equipment and facilities and get repair work when needed by informing the RA of all maintenance issues. The beautification chair oversees the use of the dorm computers and must make sure that residents use them properly. |
ECO Representative: Max sullivan (Sully)

year: third-year hometown: Nashville, TN area(s) of study: Journalism, linguistics, performance Sully is excited to apply hir knowledge around climate justice to Hobart's context and help our community get in touch with sustainable living. While on hiatus from NU, ze worked at a refill store in hir hometown, which encourages container reuse and minimizing single-use plastic in daily life. Ze hopes to make this info more accessible and shareable over the next year. Growing up in an all-girls school, Max was drawn to Hobart and lived here in both first and second years. Since returning to campus in fall 2023, ze's been an engaged nonresidential member. Ze appreciates the intersecting identities and needs within Hobart and the beauty that these intersections create. The eco representative is responsible for making Hobart House as “green” as possible. Their primary event is Green Cup, held during winter quarter, where the rep will lead Hobart in a competition to reduce the most electricity and water use. Throughout the year, the eco rep will raise awareness about being green and hold two environmentally-friendly events to promote environmental consciousness. The eco rep will also speak to residents about ways they can become more environmentally friendly and reduce their impact on the environment. |
